For years our family has used a Chinese herb medicine called Nin Jiom -- but it works best if you start using it the minute you feel a cold coming on. It tastes really good. It's a thick syrup and you have to drink a bit of warm water after you take it (very soothing). I have also used Echinacea (tincture extract) and Cold-FX -- these do help if you use them RIGHT AWAY but sometimes a cold can be SO persistent. Last Fall I had a cold (2 colds actually, back-to-back)... it was so determined to hang on. It didn't take long and I eventually succumbed to using Tylenol and all those types of drugs. It was nasty. (Advil constipates me so I avoid using it if I can.)

... hope you get better soon, Sara.

~BrendaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9021639916668413378.post-32164511762129049002009-02-11T00:10:00.000-06:002009-02-11T00:10:00.000-06:00I'm a fan of good old fashioned Buckley's to sooth...I'm a fan of good old fashioned Buckley's to sooth a sore throat.Larissa Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13307639592953896338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9021639916668413378.post-84595849135524624782009-02-10T22:52:00.000-06:002009-02-10T22:52:00.000-06:00Oh Sara, you poor thing. This is what I have heard ...Oh Sara, you poor thing.
This is what I have heard works. . .rub the bottom of your feet with Vicks Vaporub and put socks on to go to bed.
I haven't tried it yet. . .but I've heard it works.
Feel better soon.Lovella ♥https://www.blogger.com/profile/13870567090244361779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9021639916668413378.post-37134267095177150762009-02-10T19:36:00.000-06:002009-02-10T19:36:00.000-06:00Sheila~ I definitely have been taking Tylenol and ...Sheila~ I definitely have been taking Tylenol and Advil...to the max...which only takes the edge off a bit. Lots of water and tea, I've started consumming herbal blueberry tea, and I must say I feel better at the end of the day when I drink that over coffee. Sorry I don't have any "natural" remedies for you. It helps kill infections. It's amazing how a little sore throat can be so debilitating! Hope you feel better soon!Jobinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00026043422743662317noreply@blogger.com
